POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Programs Director, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the Gaston Family YMCA, the incumbent will be responsible for the instruction of day to day lessons and safety of all participants in their care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attend all meetings as required.
- Ensure that character education is implemented and followed through with during class instruction.
- Ensure the safety of every child.
- Set up equipment and disassemble equipment on a daily basis.
- Follow all safety procedures and emergency guidelines established by the Gaston County Family YMCA.
- Evaluate the level and ability of each student.
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the program director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge and experience in gymnastics/dance.
- Must have one year of gymnastics experience and at least one year of instruction.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including lifting, carrying, pulling, standing and walking (up to 50 lbs. or more).
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
