Coaches members towards a healthier lifestyle while providing the Y experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Educates and instructs members in the proper use of weights and equipment.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and guests; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Designs personalized fitness programs for members through Coaching Connection Program.
- Communicates with coaching connection participants and updates their documents weekly.
- Ensures that daily/weekly equipment maintenance and cleaning are completed (use checklist).
- Enforces fitness center rules in order to ensure a safe, clean, hygienic and organized facility.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Takes on any additional responsibility as assigned by the director/coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge and experience in wellness with team/sports experience or some course work in Wellness/Fitness work preferred.
- At least 16 years of age.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including lifting, carrying, pulling, standing and walking. (up to 50 lbs.)
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
