Description
The Gaston County Economic Development Department is dedicated to attracting and retaining desirable businesses and employers to continue improving and diversifying economic opportunities in Gaston County.
Examples of Duties
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
- Coordinate and manage incentives and grants awarded in support of new recruitment projects. Facilitate local and state contracts/economic development agreements with all parties through contract process
- Management of retail, commercial, office and industrial projects as assigned by the Business Recruitment Director and/or EDC Executive Director; monitor and support all business recruitment efforts. Work with city and county staff, utility representatives, engineering professionals as well as regional and state recruitment partners to meet project needs.
- Provide support to the Existing Industry Manager to facilitate expansion projects or communication with companies regarding incentive concerns/needs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Assistant Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation with a Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of experience in economic development or a related field with direct project management responsibilities is required. A valid NC Driver's License is required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and be able to to work independently. Must have working knowledge of economic development and project management practices.
Additional Information
The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
