We have moved into other markets across the country and are growing quickly.Job Summary:Our company is seeking anProject Estimatorto join our team. As a Project Estimator, you will be part of a broad organization, including sales, project management, engineering, production, and finance. You will be responsible for formulating a detailed breakdown of the labor and material required for some of the most high-profile projects in the country. The estimates you help prepare will be a crucial factor as to whether we are awarded a project and how we perform on a job once awarded. Your role is critical, and you will have a direct connection between our company and our most important customers. - Review all proposal request documents and prepare estimating schedules.
- Prepare accurate scope take-offs and costing.
- Prepare and execute pricing proposals.
- Track and update the status of proposals.
- Assist project management teams with developing project work order scopes and values.
- Build/nurture relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Review/analyze project data to develop accurate material, manufacturing, and installation factors.
- Assist the Sales team with negotiations on contract scope.
- Perform special projects and complete all other duties as assigned or requested.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5-10 plus years of Estimating experience and knowledge of construction material and methods.
- Experience working in a similar setting, such as an architectural firm, general contractor, wood products plant, or millwork shop, is preferred.
- Familiarity with our estimating software,Innergyis a plus.
- Estimating experience and knowledge of construction materials and methods are a plus.
- Engineering, drafting, or production experience is a plus.
- Excellent math and computer skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant information regarding plan layouts, project deliverables, and administrative work.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and comfortable with technology.
- Self-starter with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional follow-through on initiatives and commitments.
- A solid desire to grow with the company and be a part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to juggle and prioritize various daily tasks with attention to detail.
- The Project Estimator must spend time in a climate-controlled office environment before a computer screen, keyboarding, and manipulating a mouse.
- Will also be required to work in non-climate-controlled shop or job site environments periodically.
