Position Overview:
The Gastonia Ghost Peppers are seeking for passionate and creative individuals to join our Photography / Videography Internship Program for the 2025 baseball season! This internship offers the unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports media and content creation within a professional baseball environment. The ideal candidates are enthusiastic about creating fresh content and are skilled in shooting and editing photos/videos with a keen eye for visual storytelling. This internship will allow you to capture game action, fan engagement, behind-the-scenes moments, and more!
The Intern assists the Marketing department in supporting the team’s business functions – community, corporate partnerships, ticketing, marketing, events, etc. – with storytelling through photographs, post-production including keywording and archiving.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing Department with daily game day needs, including shooting fan photos/video, corporate signage, special events, game action, product shoots, ticketing events, fan experience, pregame ceremonies and other projects as assigned
- Provide photos for in-game recaps
- Edit, tag, archive, and organize all images and files for the Gastonia Ghost Peppers photo drive
- Shoot non-game day events
- Monitor social media trends and present new ideas to enhance the current content strategy
- Additional Duties: Support the marketing and front office team with various tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in sports photography and video production required
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite: Lightroom, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Assist with photo/video shooting for marketing campaigns
- Develop “recap” videos summarizing each home-stand, combining game footage and event highlights
- Ability to work in an outdoor stadium setting, including the ability to work effectively in potentially hot, cold, humid, rainy and/or loud conditions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you will be required to produce content in real-time under tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, external partners and the public in a professional manner
- Strong understanding of social media landscape and how to capture engaging content for specific platforms
- Ability to carry camera gear up weighing up to 50 lbs. at a time while walking, climbing, kneeling, standing and crouching for extended periods of times in a crowded environment; standing/shooting on game days
- Have a laptop/phone for editing photos/videos
- Have personal camera equipment
- Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized
