Description
The Controller is responsible for direct oversight of the accounting team and helps guide the financial decisions of the organization by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape. They are responsible for the management and oversight of financial statements, payroll, budgets, and tax compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines at the direction of the CFO.
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action.
- Maximize payroll efficiencies through innovative process development.
- Assist CFO in developing and supporting short and long-term operational strategies.
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and expenditures.
- In conjunction with CFO, establish financial and operation benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all accounting functions.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflow.
- Oversee and support accounting team with leadership that creates an environment of trust and efficiency.
- Act as first point of contact for all accounting practices and relevant questions, concerns and organizational needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Ten (10) years proven accounting experience
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
- Professional accounting certification preferred
- CPA highly preferred
- Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
- Proficiency in MS Office
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
