We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of improving GI health in our community.
Job Summary : The Gastroenterology Hospitalist will provide specialized care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders at Memorial Central hospital. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of GI conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Cover one hospital, Memorial Central.
- Focus on inpatient and outpatient GI procedures.
- Work with an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who will handle consults, follow-ups, and phone calls, allowing the hospitalist to concentrate on procedures and rounding.
- Round with the APPs and attest to their notes.
- Perform outpatient procedures on weekdays only (no weekends); typically, 6 outpatients per day.
- Manage 10-12 inpatients per day.
- Start at 7 AM and end around 5 PM most days.
- Take night call from home, with rare emergent procedures requiring hospital presence.
