GAP is the longest established gastroenterology practice in the Piedmont Triad area. This independent, physician-owned GI practice is looking for CMAs or RMAs for our GI Clinics. GAP evaluates new patients, performs consultations and conducts follow-up visits for chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Our offices draw and assess labs, administer injections and monitor medication therapies. We offer on-site infusion services and our clinical staff assist with a variety of in-office procedures. When appropriate, GAP schedules appointments for outpatient screening, diagnostic and/or treatment procedures. Our endoscopy centers are physician-owned outpatient ambulatory surgical centers which specialize in colon cancer screening and prevention as well as a number of other procedures including endoscopy, Interstim Bowel Control Therapy and Orbera gastric balloon weight loss therapy.

Requirements
The CMA or RMA is currently certified or registered in North Carolina, administering quality clinical care to patients. Experience preferred, but not required. The right candidate should have a broad knowledge of clinical functions and the ability to apply clinical skills and techniques. BLS certification required.
- Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
- Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Provides basic patient care as ordered. Administers medications and treatments as directed.
- Captures and records date of last colonoscopy or lack of.
- Documents care provided or procedures performed accurately on patient records.
- Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments and minor medical procedures.
- Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
- Participates in implementing the plan of care per provider orders.
- Follows set protocols/standing orders/algorithms/decision trees established by the physician.
- Documents interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results in medical records.
- Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Epic experience strongly preferred. Bilingual skills a plus.
