What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phone Nurse - LPN or RN position at Gastroenterology Specialties, PC?
We are a busy gastroenterology office with 33 Providers. We are in the process of expanding our team to accommodate for our recent company growth. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is passionate about healthcare to help us provide great care to our patients!
Job Summary :
Obtains or updates medical history for patients scheduled for procedures, reviews procedure instructions and sends any prescriptions needed for procedure preparation to the pharmacy. Utilizes professional nursing skills and critical thinking to provide patient education regarding upcoming procedures and answer procedure preparation calls and questions. Works collaboratively with the Intake Nursing team, Clinic Nursing team, providers, and other departments as assigned to provide exceptional patient care.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities :
- Performs telephone pre-certification calls for upcoming GI procedures.
- Obtains and documents patient health history.
- Reviews medication and instructs patients on what medication to hold prior to procedure.
- Provides instruction for procedure preparation.
- Maintains knowledge of all physicians' standing orders for procedures and instructs patients accordingly.
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN). EOE
Schedule:
Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm with rotating Friday afternoons off.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
