Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist - Gastroenterologist
Job Summary:
The Medical Billing Specialist, under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Manager, will be responsible for all aspects of medical billing processes. Ensures accuracy of data entry of daily charges to include generation of electronic and paper claims and patient statements.
Reports To: Revenue Cycle Manager
Supervises: None
Classification: Non-Exempt
Location: Miami, FL
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of experience in medical billing Preferred.
- Certified Medical Biller Preferred.
- GI Pathology billing experience Preferred.
- Strong communication skills Preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office applications required which include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities:
- Monitors receipt of daily coding and performs charge entry, ensuring the accuracy of all charges entered, modifier usage and timeliness of filing insurance claims both on paper and electronically.
- Monitor and addresses all electronic scrubbing errors to ensure claims get to the payer timely.
- Accurately enters all recalls for future procedures as well as hospital follow-up visits.
- Interacts with others (co-employees, management, physicians, patients, visitors, vendors) in a professional and tactful manner, including treating them with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
