Position Overview: GATC Health is seeking a talented BS/MS level synthetic chemist/research scientist with analytical skills to join our Morgantown facility. We are looking for candidates with 2-10 years of experience in the workplace; however, exceptional recent graduates will also be considered. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in medicinal chemistry, drug design, and organic synthesis.
Key Responsibilities: As a Scientist in Chemistry at GATC Health, you will be responsible for conducting chemical synthesis and performing analytical tasks in the laboratory. Responsibilities include demonstrating competence in organic chemistry and laboratory techniques, such as performing and working up chemical reactions. An interest in medicinal chemistry, drug design, and organic synthesis is highly desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will demonstrate a commitment to laboratory safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Experience with interpreting scientific data from techniques such as NMR, chromatography, and mass spectrometry is a plus. Familiarity with laboratory automation and parallel experimentation is advantageous. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn from world-class scientists with expertise in artificial intelligence, robotics, and early-stage drug development.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Chemistry or related field
- 2-10 years of experience in a workplace setting is preferred; exceptional recent graduates will also be considered

- Strong computer skills and mechanical abilities
- Demonstrated competence in organic chemistry and laboratory techniques
