Legal Contracts Specialist
The Contracts Specialist will assist in reviewing and preparing related documentation for policy renewals, letters of credit, annual state filings, small claims court responses, contract agreements related to business operations, and other administrative tasks. Additionally, the role will provide administrative support as needed to C-suite executives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with legal standards.
- Ensures all contracts are properly stored and accessible.
- Monitor contract expiration dates and work with stakeholders to manage renewals, amendments, or terminations.
- Assist in preparing reports and summaries regarding contract status, risks, and obligations for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research to support the drafting and revision of contracts and other legal matters.
- Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Streamlining Review Process: The Specialist will be instrumental in following our current contract review process and will help identify ways to streamline the process
- Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing documents for litigation, corporate filings, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks for the EVP and CFO potentially including: managing calendars of appointments and meetings, composing and preparing correspondence and reports, establishing and maintaining files, and other items as needed.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in paralegal studies, communication, or another business-related field preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in contracts management or legal assistant role, with a focus on contract drafting and review.
- Strong understanding of contract law, business agreements, and legal terminology.
- Data analysis and reporting experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft products
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize job functions to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High degree of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
