Job Summary:
The Senior Pipeline Engineer will support client integrated project teams in managing pipeline projects across all phases, including FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning. This role ensures technical compliance with industry standards, supports project execution, and facilitates coordination between engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction. The engineer will provide expertise in subsea and onshore pipeline design, installation methodologies, and construction management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Strong understanding of offshore and onshore pipeline engineering principles, including stress analysis, flow assurance, and mechanical design
- Experience managing technical interfaces, subcontractors, and execution planning
- Ability to identify project risks related to pipeline integrity, construction feasibility, and schedule impacts.
- Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams, clients, and external contractors
- Provide technical oversight for pipeline design, installation, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Assist in managing pipeline-related work scopes within the project, including planning, execution, and risk management
- Oversee critical pipeline components such as valves, connectors, coatings, and pipeline structures, ensuring vendor compliance with project specifications
- Collaborate with SMEs, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical queries, deviations, and ensure design integrity
- Conduct reviews of project deliverables, including design reports, material specifications, and pipeline route planning
- Provide technical guidance for HDD shore crossings, on-bottom stability, and subsea installation strategies
- Participate in schedule reviews, change control processes, and technical risk assessments to mitigate project risks
- Support commissioning efforts, including hydro-testing, dewatering, and mechanical completion planning
- Other duties as assigned
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 10 years of experience in pipeline engineering and project execution, with expertise in subsea and onshore pipeline systems
- PMP, Chartered Engineer (IMechE), or other relevant certifications preferred
