Key Responsibilities
Ground Control Management :
Oversee and maintain Ground Control Management systems on-site, updating as necessary for Crown Pillar Management Plans.
- Conduct inspections of underground excavations, providing recommendations to mitigate ground stability issues.
- Lead and collaborate with planners to provide geotechnical recommendations regarding stope sizing, offset distances, and mine sequencing.
Geotechnical Design & Analysis :
Create and analyze stress models to support ground support design, mine re-entry protocols, and overall mine design.
Instrumentation & Monitoring :
Ensure that geotechnical instrumentation systems and Trigger Action Response Plans (TARPs) meet all required education, qualifications, and experience standards.
Requirements
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of direct mining experience, with a focus on geotechnical engineering and ground control management.
Skills & Expertise :
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Microsoft Office, Map3D, Deswik, RocScience, and Leapfrog.
Licensure :
PE License (Professional Engineer) is preferred, but not required.
