Veterinary receptionist needed for growing multi doctor/family oriented full service animal hospital for small animals looking for the right person to join our veterinary family!
We are looking for someone with a positive personality, outgoing demeanor, excellent communication skills, compassionate and caring, ability to work in a fast paced environment. Applicant must also have the willingness to be a self motivated team player with the ability to multitask while keeping an upbeat attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting client with their pets to the clinic in a friendly and courteous manner
- Handle all emergency cases appropriately by keeping clients and patients at ease
- Differentiating the need for urgent care versus regularly scheduled care
- Checking in patients, discharging patients, dispensing medications/prescriptions, invoicing
- Answer incoming calls professionally, answering clients inquiries, scheduling appointments, recording messages for doctors and staff
- Scheduling surgery appointments ensuring to give proper instructions to the owner prior to their appointment (fasting, medications to be administered, etc)
- Expediting prescription refill requests promptly/retrieve prescription refills for pick up
- Review and record patients' records to ensure vaccination records and tests recommended by the doctor are up to date
- Prepare patient forms and files, update and file patient charts.
- Able to upload and/or scan existing or new patient records into the online chart system, as we are currently switching from a paper based system to a digital records system.
- Ensure that patients do all necessary paperwork accurately and process various forms of payment before being discharged from the hospital.
Skills:
- Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role: 1 year Preferred
- Administrative Assistant : 1 year preferred
- Customer Service Representative: 1 year preferred
