Job Overview
The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring that all maintenance and repair tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing a team of maintenance personnel, coordinating projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of industrial maintenance practices.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Oversee industrial maintenance tasks including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints to facilitate repairs and installations.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Fabricate parts or components as necessary to support maintenance operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, particularly in high voltage environments.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Skills
- Proficient in CMMS software for effective maintenance management.
- Drafts project specifications and solicits proposals from vendors and contractors
- Responsible for the upkeep and preservation of all physical assets of the organization including rented properties (tenant responsible aspects), and grounds of buildings
- Assures compliance with OSHA/Safety Program and licensing safety requirements.
- Assures timely, appropriate and cost effective building and equipment repairs
- Knowledge of computerized maintenance system-Creates accurate building and equipment maintenance and replacement projections
- Performs inspections and surveys of facilities and facility use as requested or required
- Performs in-service training, and educational sessions as required
- Responds to immediate need for physical plant repairs as dictated by emergency or disaster conditions
- Performs physical plant and equipment repairs and maintenance as dictated by emergency or disaster conditions
- Repair and improvement of the building and grounds, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and landscape projects
- Maintains vehicle fleet (Gateway facilities), perform minor repairs on vehicles, arrange and schedule off-site repairs and maintenance, transport vehicles for repair and maintenance
- Checks and directs the maintenance of building equipment, including boilers, generators, and fire safety equipment for all Gateway facilities.
- Assist all programs and departments with lifting and moving items as requested
- Attends Monthly Department meetings
- Budgeting and forecasting of capital expenditures and needs

REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Ca. driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
- Must have thorough knowledge of developmental disabilities, quality program services, administrative and budgeting practices and applicable Federal and State Regulations.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals supported. The ability to develop positive community support.
- Current CPR/First Aid.
- Complete and pass a TB test and COVID-19 test, and health screening exam
- Flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required, AA/BA or other education preferred.
- Minimum 4 years experience in facilities, maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical positions.
- Competent skills with Microsoft Office-Word, and excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to perform well in a deadline-sensitive environment.
- Able to operate machinery, motor vehicles and power tools safely.
- Ability to handle cleaning compounds and chemicals safely.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical, mental, and emotional stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions.

- Vision sufficient to read handwritten and printed materials, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines
- Hearing sufficient to communicate in person and hold telephone conversations in normal range (approximately 60 decibels)
- Physical agility to sit, stand, kneel, walk, push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, and to reach overhead
- Physical stamina sufficient to sustain light physical labor for up to 8 hours, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment for sustained periods of time on hard flooring, climb slopes, stairs, ramps, and to respond to emergency situations. The employee must regularly lift 30 pounds and/or move up to 75 pounds.
