What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Teacher (K-5) position at Gateway Christian Academy?
Gateway Christian Academy (GCA) is a growing Christian private school serving children from Preschool – 5th grade. We are Christ-centered and Biblically based school with small class sizes. We are currently accepting applications for Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.
Required Education:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited college/university
- Elementary teaching experience preferred but not required. This is a perfect opportunity for a first year teacher.
- Knowledge of Abeka Curriculum preferred
- Valid state teaching certification is a plus but not required.
Required Personal Qualities:
- Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.
- Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living.
- Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
- Be a member in good standing at a local, evangelical church that has a Statement of Faith in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must display strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have strong problem-solving skills
- Must have experience or ability to serve students with varying exceptionalities
Other:
- Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening
