Counselor Supervisors are responsible for:

• Providing support, intervention, direction, and conflict resolution to encourage clients through difficult phases of recovery during substance use disorder treatment
• Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing and implementing complex treatment plans for clients with dual diagnoses, social or mental health issues
• Scheduling and overseeing delivery of services.
• Carrying a caseload that will not exceed 50 clients
• Evaluating the work performance and providing supervision to counselors
• Serving as a professional resource to other Counselors in resolving complex case problems and provides clinical supervision and guidance

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree in a clinical area (counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy)
• Missouri credential as CCDP-D, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist. PLPC or other provisional licensure may also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the treatment of dual diagnosis disorders is also required.
• The candidate must either have completed a 3 day clinical supervision course provided by the Missouri Substance Abuse Professional Credentialing Board, or do so within 3-6 months of hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk and move about the facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to record, proofread and check documents and files for accuracy, to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, read
• Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data
• Ability to respond to telephones, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises
