Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour (DOE)
Bonus: $1,000 Sign-on Bonus

Position Summary:
Are you passionate about engaging residents in meaningful activities that enhance their well-being and quality of life? As an Activities Coordinator, you will lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Activities Department. You will develop, plan, and implement innovative activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents. Your role is crucial in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that supports socialization, recreation, and individual engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Activity Planning and Implementation:
- Develop an ongoing program of activities to meet residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Create and maintain an engaging activity calendar.
- Plan, organize, and implement activities that are suited to residents' interests and abilities.
- Research and introduce new and innovative activities for different resident ability levels.
- Carry out all scheduled activities and encourage resident participation.
- Resident Engagement and Evaluation:
- Complete activity evaluations within ten days of admission for new residents.
- Update activity plans as needed, including quarterly service plan reviews.
- Ensure staff document after-hours resident activities.
- Work closely with nurses, care managers, med-aides, and caregivers to build relationships and maintain communication with residents and their families.
- Administrative and Compliance Duties:
- Maintain and update all required documentation, including activity plans, participation records, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
- Lead and coordinate staff meetings to share updates, ideas, and problem-solving solutions.
- Provide ongoing training and supervision for Activity Assistants and other staff.
- Oversee department operations, including scheduling staff, reviewing timecards, and ensuring adequate staffing.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure activity calendars are posted in resident rooms and common areas.
- Assist residents in participating in activities as needed.
- Support resident transportation needs when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity space.
- Deliver mail to residents daily.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience working in a residential care facility.
- Two years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental health conditions.
- Experience with activity planning is preferred; Activity Director Certification is a plus.
- One year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of current federal and state healthcare/assisted living/residential care facility rules and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in English.
Required Qualifications:
- Complete RELIAS Activities training within 30 days of hire.
- Maintain a cohesive, mission-driven team and continually develop staff skills and competencies.
- Collaborate with all staff to ensure strong interdepartmental communication.
- Maintain professionalism, patience, and compassion when working with residents and staff.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
- Obtain and maintain a current First Aid and Food Handlers Card.
- Possess a valid Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
- Show passion and enthusiasm for Gateway's mission and its residents.
- Ability to drive company vehicles (bus, van, or truck) as needed.

Physical Requirements:
- Environment: Frequently work indoors, occasionally outdoors.
- Movement: Perform tasks involving frequent lifting (up to 50-200 pounds), standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, and twisting.
- Exposure: Frequent exposure to air conditioning, central heat, chemicals/cleaning supplies, and possible contagious diseases.
- Social Environment: Handle high-volume work and multiple or complicated tasks frequently. Work closely with others in a team setting.
- Specifics: Standing (constantly), sitting (frequently), driving (occasionally), and handling emergencies (rarely).
