JOB DESCRIPTION
The Campus-Based Instructional/Academic Coach is a vital member of the school’s leadership team, dedicated to fostering excellence in teaching and learning. This position focuses on supporting teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies, analyzing student performance data, and driving academic achievement. The coach will work collaboratively with educators to enhance instructional practices, align curriculum, and improve student outcomes.

Support HUSD vision, Mission, Goals, Strategic Plan, and All Campus Goals.
Instructional Support
- Provide individualized coaching and mentoring to teachers to enhance instructional practices.
- Model effective teaching strategies, including differentiated instruction, classroom management, and engagement techniques.
- Assist teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing rigorous and standards-aligned lessons.
- Maintain knowledge of effective instructional strategies.
Professional Learning
- Design and facilitate professional development sessions aligned with campus and district goals.
- Offer ongoing training and workshops on evidence-based instructional practices and pedagogy.
- Promote reflective practices among teachers to encourage continuous professional growth.
- Support district developed professional learning expectations/strategies at the site level.
- Support the campus’ processes for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) processes.
Data Analysis and Assessment
- Collaborate with teachers to analyze student performance data and identify trends.
- Assist in the development and implementation of intervention plans to address achievement gaps.
- Support the effective use of formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
Curriculum Alignment and Planning
- Collaborate with grade-level teams to ensure curriculum alignment with state standards and district frameworks.
- Assist in the integration of technology and innovative practices into lesson plans.
- Guide teachers in developing short- and long-term instructional goals using the district’s coaching framework through coaching cycles.
- Support district curriculum adoption process and implementation.
- Collaborate with school administration on Continuous School Improvement goals.
- Support the campus and district’s enrichment and intervention programs and curriculums.
- Collaborate with the district’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction, content specialist and other campus instructional/academic coaches on content instructional mapping.
- Support district and campus GIFTED programming needs.
Collaboration and Communication
- Serve as a liaison between teachers and administration to ensure alignment of campus goals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative school culture by building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Participate in campus leadership meetings and contribute to the development of school improvement plans.
- Collaborate with district content specialist, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and other Campus Academic/Instructional Coaches on a scheduled basis.
- Participate in district committees and task forces as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must hold valid Arizona Teacher Certification.
- Appropriately certified in subject area of position at time of hire is preferred.
- Must have SEI or equivalent endorsement on Certificate or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
