Gardening Teacher/Manager Responsibilities Include

  • Teach 1-2 sections of Gardening & Horticulture, an elective course focused on permaculture principles and practices. Support students to grow, harvest, prepare, cook, and distribute produce from the garden.
  • Manage the 5,000 square foot school garden, which includes a micro-pond, cooking shed, greenhouse, and performance space.
  • Develop a year-long Garden work plan that supports the long-term vision of the site.

Compensation Range

  • Commensurate with experience and FTE level, based on a full-time salary scale, for credentialed teachers, of $85,000 -$110,000

  • Commitment to Gateway's mission, including a desire to work with a diverse student body
  • Desire to be part of building the larger school culture and community
  • Current California single subject credential in science
  • Bilingual and BIPOC candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
