What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adaptive Support Fitness Instructor position at Gateway Region YMCA?
- Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.
- Ensure individual needs of participants are met within program guidelines.
- Utilize sound judgment and discretionary skills in accordance with the Gateway Region YMCA policies.
- Maintain positive relationships with many diverse people including staff, parents, volunteers and program site administration and demonstrate strong public relation skills.
- Ensure YMCA policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain an environment that ensures participant's safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
- Works with director to determine current needs for program.
- Ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
- Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.
- Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda. .
- Ensure ADA compliance with federal, state, local and YMCA regulations.
- Ensure individual needs of the participants are met and supported while remaining within the approved program parameters.
- Implement modifications and adaptations to approved goals as needed
- Ensure appropriate programming/support is provided in a 1:1 client ratio
- Accurate, timely completion of paperwork required by funders and YMCA
- Provide opportunities to build self-help and independent skills
- Maintain confidentiality and accurately prepare and provide proper records, documentation and files
- Communicate professionally and accurately with YMCA staff, participants and families.
- Complete and maintain all required certifications
- Perform all other duties as assigned

- High School/GED/University completion in field or related field (based on position)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 0ne to two years related experience preferred
- Ability to use typical business software and office equipment
