Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) has an amazing opportunity for a Director, Co-Occurring programs who will administer and provide oversight of the Co-Occurring units across the organization. This position supervises the Co-Occurring Therapists and the Psych Nurses and reports to Executive Regional Director of Inpatient Services.
Responsibilities
- Understands and implements Gateway policies and procedures.
- Develops, plans, and implements procedures to assess and improve the quality of the co-occurring treatment programs.
- Supervises the clinical staff regarding work assignments, scheduling, time and attendance, and performance.
- Provides back-up coverage for clinical staff.
- Assures that all clinical staff documentation is thorough and completed in a period that fully meets the standards established by policy and regulatory bodies. This documentation includes psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, notes, discharge summary and all clinical contacts with patients.
- Applies eligibility and diagnostic criteria, such as ASAM, to determine patient appropriateness for treatment in various modalities.
- Monitors census daily with the goal of meeting or exceeding average daily census projections.
- Monitors average length of stay monthly, with the goal of meeting or exceeding projections.
- Monitors withdrawal management to inpatient (3.7) transfer rates and implements program changes to meet or exceed goals.
- Prepares program budgets in a timely fashion.
- Monitors budget performance monthly and makes program adjustments as necessary to meet or exceed budget expectations.
- Conducts internal trainings on changes in Gateway policies, documentation procedures, and other areas related to the achievement of program goals and objectives.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs licensing and The Joint Commission accreditation standards and ensures that the programs are in a state of readiness for state licensing, county monitoring, and The Joint Commission visits.
- Monitors the condition of the physical plant to assure services are provided in a safe, clean, and well-ordered environment.
- Communicates appropriately with other Gateway departments.
- Meets with direct supervisee(s) at least 2 times a month for manager meetings.
- Responds promptly to complaints from patients and family members. Refers complaints from referral sources and the community to the Executive Regional Director or Vice President of Treatment Services.
- Provides consultation about patient care as necessary.
- Works creatively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Keeps informed about new developments in the field of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
- Completes appropriate staff performance evaluations during the month they are due.
- Completes annual staff training calendars for appropriate staff members when they are due.
- Intervenes and documents appropriately when an employee demonstrates poor work performance.
- Participates in appropriate community and public relations activities.
- Participates on Gateway committees as assigned.
- Attends mandatory Gateway trainings and in-services
