The Licensed Clinical Director plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures and timely reporting requirements. The Clinical Director supervises both clinical and program staff, providing therapeutic guidance. Additionally, they assist the Executive Director and Program Director in aligning the program with its mission, vision, and core values.
Position Qualifications - Education and Experience:
- Current, active MFT or LCSW license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Health.
- Five years of clinical and administrative experience with at-risk youth.
- Proven ability to manage teams and multiple projects.
- Familiarity with evidence-based programming and behavior modification techniques.
- Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, SmartCare/Avatar, and Medi-Cal Billing.
Other Qualifications:
- Strong collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Experience with healthcare and mental health regulatory agencies, particularly in working with STRTP and County Mental Health contracts.
- Ability to effectively communicate, teach, and motivate staff.
- Positive and supportive approach to staff management.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Required Licenses: LMFT, LCSW, or LCC.
Position/Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect clinical supervision to the treatment team.
- Ensure all programs meet clinical objectives, including outcomes, engagement, discharges, and length of stay.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory, accreditation, and HIPAA standards.
- Ensure adequate staffing to meet program needs.
- Continuously research and implement best practices and evidence-based recovery methods.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Supervise clinical staff, including therapists working toward licensure.
- Ensure completion of behavioral health outcomes, performance improvement assessments, reports, and plans according to established guidelines.
- Contribute to the Gateway Management Team.
- Regularly review and update program policy manuals to reflect current regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards and regulations governing mental health services, including Medi-Cal conditions of participation.
- Support data analysis and provide insights for the annual Performance Analysis Report.
