Position : Logistics Clerk
Summary :
Gateway Studios & Production Services is seeking a Logistics Clerk to assist with daily operations of the logistics department. This position will also collaborate with warehouse personnel and technicians to ensure a smooth process for tracking incoming / outgoing shipments. This position reports to the Logistics Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Major Responsibilities :
Logistics :
Prepare outgoing shipments for all FedEx, U.S. Mail, DHL.
Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
Maintain organized filing systems for inbound and outbound freight.
Palletizing, inspecting, and staging of orders
Loading and unloading of trucks / trailers and containers as needed.
Inspect incoming shipments for damage or defects.
Trace lost shipments and / or customer claims of lost shipments.
Receive and confirm the accuracy of incoming freight.
Assist and perform deliveries and pickups at various locations.
Teamwork and Communication :
Assist Logistics Manager and other departments with warehouse organization.
Assist with warehouse and departmental responsibilities as needed.
Safety :
Ensure workplace safety and efficiency.
Follow proper safety protocol at all times.
Wear glasses, gloves and hard hats as needed.
Attendance :
Attendance is an essential requirement for this position.
Any Other Duties as Assigned by Supervisor :
To be determined by supervisor on a permanent or project basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certificates :
HS Diploma required.
Class E license required (Class A CDL preferred)
Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
Experience :
Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations a plus.
Familiar with UPS and FedEx software.
Skills / Abilities :
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, work orders, and memos.
Exhibits dependability, including following instructions, punctuality and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and plan work activities in a fast paced environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Physical Demands :
Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the shift
Due to the complexity and weight of the equipment, adequate stamina and physical strength are necessary to perform the duties of the job
Work with power cables and power distribution in common live event environments
Work under any prevailing terrain and weather conditions and be appropriately dressed to do so, regardless of cold, heat, humidity, or wet weather conditions
Strength :
Frequent manual lifting, up to 50 lbs., depending on equipment available (50-80% of shift)
Frequent pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs., depending on equipment available (50-80% of shift)
Manual Dexterity :
Sufficient manual dexterity to perform activities required under essential functions
Frequent light grasping and fine motor tasks (65-85% of shift)
Coordination :
Ability to perform gross body coordination and hand-eye coordination tasks without instability
Work on a variety of uneven surfaces installing power cables and lights
Mobility
Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, lift, crawl, twist and move frequently during working hours
Frequent standing (65-85%)
Occasional stair climbing and descending (30% of shift)
Visual :
Must be able to see or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to ensure that the essential functions of this position can be fully met
Hearing :
Must be able to hear or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to ensure that the essential functions of this position can be fully met
Speech :
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner
