Position : Video Technician Level 2
Summary :
The Video Technician Level 2 at Gateway Studios & Production Services plays an important role in the video department. This Video Technician configures, operates, and troubleshoots all video equipment used in the execution of services and special events. Working primarily in a warehouse setting, the Video Technician inspects, tests, and cleans equipment, and ensures that all video equipment is properly managed and maintained. The video technician participates in the load in and load out of equipment and is also responsible for the organization and inventory for all video equipment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Major Responsibilities
Video Gear :
- Assemble, configure, and load equipment for delivery.
- Ensure all multi camera systems, displays and monitoring equipment prep deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with other team members to prep the tour / special event as planned.
- Load video equipment manually into carts or Road Cases and transfer equipment to its destination point for loading or unloading.
- Accurately scan equipment barcodes and enter quantity count data into inventory software when performing check-out or check-in tasks.
Equipment Prep and Testing :
Clean equipment after check in when returned.Inspect new equipment upon delivery.Test all video equipment when it comes into the warehouse, including new and returned.Diagnose, log, and repair damaged items.Manage firmware versions for applicable devices.Organize and store all tested equipment.Ensure all equipment is in top cosmetic shape.Event Participation :
Record, edit, and / or archive event footage as requested.Set up screens, projectors, and multi-camera video systems.Set up breakout room video systems, various types of displays, content play back servers and camera system.Teamwork and Communication :
Communicate with lead video technician and co-workers as needed throughout projects to ensure customer satisfaction.Ability to work in teams and assist others in delegation / task completion.Maintenance :
Responsible for routine maintenance and quality control of video equipment and various accessories.Safety :
Ensure workplace safety and efficiency.Follow proper safety protocol at all times.Wear proper PPE at all times, based on the scope of work.Attendance :

Education / Certificates :
High school diploma or GED certificate required.Associates or BS degree in a production or video-related field preferred.OSHA 10 preferred.Experience :
Very strong understanding of video production equipment and functionality3 plus years of experience working in A / V production in the live events industry required3-4 years of experience working with video equipment, dry-hire background a plusVery Strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a time-sensitive production environmentSkills / Abilities :
Ability to work under a variety of indoor and outdoor conditionsAbility to operate a forklift preferredTroubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to work within a team, lead when necessary, and remain professional under pressure / high stress situationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Physical Demands :
Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the shift.Due to the complexity and weight of the equipment, adequate stamina and physical strength is necessary to perform duties of job.Work with power cables and power distribution in common live event environments.Work under any prevailing terrain and weather conditions and be appropriately dressed to do so, regardless of cold, heat, humidity, or wet weather conditions.Strength :
