Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized MDS Coordinator to join our team on a temporary, full-time basis, with the potential for a permanent role. The MDS Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the completion and submission of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role is vital in optimizing care planning, reimbursement, and overall resident outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete and submit accurate and timely MDS assessments following regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure care plans align with residents' needs.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee quality indicator reports and work to enhance care quality.
- Conduct resident assessments and participate in care plans.
- Educate staff on MDS documentation requirements and best practices.
- Assist with audits and ensure proper record-keeping for compliance.
Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN license in the state of Nebraska.
- A minimum of 1 year of MDS experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in MDS 3.0, the RAI process, and Medicare regulations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., PointClickCare) is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
