Job Description:
Looking for a home care provider, with a wheelchair accessible home/apartment for a woman in her 70's, who is cognitive and physically disabled along with vision impaired. She has left side weakness/hemi-paresis. The caregiver would be providing assistance with all personal care, ADL's, as well as some daily cooking. We are looking for an experienced, kind, patient, dependable, clean, and responsible non-smoker for the long term to take the woman into their home and provide care to her. The home care provider should be able to work well with a team and able to communicate any concerns or issues to the family. The home care provider who would have some flexibility for scheduling as there are 2-3 other staff that currently provide care to her. We are seeking someone who can cover 12 to 24 hours per each day or night-time shift, if other staff are unable to cover their shift. Specific schedule is to be determined.
What is a Home Care Provider?
Home care provider ship is a family setting for adults who are unable to live alone due to a physical or developmental disability. Providers should possess patience, common sense, a genuine acceptance of the person with the disability and the willingness to share a home life with an adult with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Salary/Benefits:
- $23.00-25.00/hour
- Client would pay rent
Requirements/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in the developmental disabilities system preferred (will consider applicants with a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities who have equivalent education and desire to gain experience in the field)
- Medication administration, required by state when medications are to be administered by staff
