The Role:
The AGM at Gather Berkeley plays a dual leadership role, overseeing both front-of-house operations and our evolving bar program. You’ll bring structure and soul to every shift—managing service standards, training, scheduling, and daily execution, while also owning the beverage experience and guiding the bar team to success. This role requires a hands-on leader who balances sharp operational skills with genuine hospitality instincts.
Key Responsibilities:Service Leadership
- Manage all FOH operations including daily service flow, staff leadership, and guest experience
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative, positive, and professional work environment
- Develop and enforce service training, manuals, and policies
- Monitor service standards, respond to feedback, and handle guest relations with care
- Oversee reservation systems, dining room flow, and special event planning
Bar Program Oversight
- Manage the full beverage program: menu creation, costing, sourcing, inventory, and cleanliness
- Hire, train, and mentor bartenders to uphold a high-performing, guest-focused culture
- Control bar labor and manage scheduling in line with budget targets
- Promote collaboration and ongoing product education across the bar team
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Schedule and train FOH team; assist with payroll and HR documentation
- Maintain all service manuals and ensure team accountability to company standards
- Assist with event coordination, marketing opportunities, and special programming
- Fulfill Manager-on-Duty (MOD) responsibilities including opening/closing tasks, shift coverage, and operational problem-solving
- Maintain facility excellence, identifying repairs and scheduling subcontractors when needed
