We are looking for a detail-focused Autonomous Vehicle Test Support Specialist to help test and check autonomous trucks. In this role, you will monitor how the trucks perform, use testing software, record important information, and make sure data is collected correctly during test runs. The ideal person is good with technology, able to spot issues, and will work closely with engineers to improve the system.
This position is based on site at our Denison, TX office!
What you'll do:
- Monitor and operate the truck's test computer during test runs (you are in the passenger seat).
- Follow test instructions, making adjustments to keep everything running smoothly and safely.
- Watch how the truck behaves, interacts with the road, and how the system performs, recording everything in real-time.
- Share any observations or issues with the engineering team.
- Help troubleshoot and assist engineers with software or hardware problems.
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines during testing.
- Check the truck’s systems before and after each trip to make sure everything works properly.
- Work with safety drivers and engineers to improve the truck's performance.
- Keep detailed notes and reports to help improve the software.
What we're looking for:
- A degree or experience in engineering, computer science, automotive technology, or something similar (preferred but NOT required).
- Comfortable with computer systems, vehicle diagnostics, and logging software.
- Able to understand and interpret real-time data.
- Good communication skills to give clear feedback.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Able to adapt to new testing protocols and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with vehicle testing, automotive technology, robotics, or telematics.
- Mapping
- Familiarity with tools for analyzing test data.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle operations and safety standards.
- Experience using two-way radios.
