HireArt is helping Gatik find a proactive and detail-oriented on-site Fleet Operations Coordinator to monitor autonomous vehicles (AVs) from their remote stations.
In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing AV trucks during their trips, making sure they run safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with different teams to support AV truck testing and deployment, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience driving a box truck, a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record and no major violations, and familiarity with navigating different software systems. This person will also have exceptional attention to detail, good decision-making, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.

As a Fleet Operations Coordinator, you'll:
- Oversee the operations of autonomous vehicles (AVs), closely monitoring real-time data to ensure they run safely and efficiently.
- Respond quickly to any requests from the AV system for help, solving problems as safely and quickly as possible, and escalating any issues that need additional attention.
- Coordinate AV operations by maintaining clear communication with various teams, including ground crews, dispatch, and on occasion, law enforcement or first responders.
- Work closely with the technical and testing teams to share observations/feedback, helping to improve the AV’s performance.
- Review data on vehicle performance, creating reports about incidents, key performance indicators, and areas where improvements can be made.
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and industry standards to ensure compliance at all times.
- Identify any operational issues with the AV system or routes, addressing problems and escalating when necessary.
- Stay updated on the latest AV technology, software updates, and industry trends, participating in regular training to enhance your skills.
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving a box truck
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record and no major violations
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Familiarity with using computers and navigating different software systems
- Ability to monitor vehicles remotely for 6-8 hours at a time
- Good communication skills, both written/spoken, for clear reporting and coordination
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to monitor multiple systems and spot any issues as they occur
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including rotating shifts and covering different time zones
- A degree in a STEM field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, or Transportation)
- Experience with autonomous vehicle operations or testing
- Experience working in a remote command center or simulator-based environment
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety rules (e.g., DOT, FMCSA)
- Understanding of vehicle dynamics, traffic management, and safety protocols
- Experience with data analysis tools to evaluate vehicle performance
- Strong interest in technology, such as drone flyers, gaming systems, apps, or simulation tools
