Pizza Maker/Kitchen Team Member - Sevierville Brewpub

Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Pizza Makers/Kitchen Team Members to join the Gatlinburg Brewing Company Team. As a Pizza Maker/Kitchen Team Member, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items and prep items, ensuring that TN Department of Health and company food safety and quality standards are met. Your role will be crucial in providing excellent service to our customers.

Duties:

• Assist in food preparation, including chopping and portioning vegetables, marinating and preparing meats, and preparing and portioning sauces
• Cook and assemble dishes according to Standard Operating Procedures, recipes and portion sizes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas
• Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of ingredients at all times
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations at all times
• Assist with special events as needed
• Ensure that the pizza, salad and pretzel stations are properly stocked and set-up at the start of each shift
• Be able to successfully pass a “pizza portion test” at the end of one week of training
• Ensure that all pizza equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s cleaning and preventative maintenance programs
• Inform management immediately if equipment is not operating properly
• Ensure that the store has all products necessary for operating the pizza station daily. If items need to be ordered, make sure that a manager knows to order them. Alerting management of low stock items is your responsibility to avoid running out of any items
• Communicate any out of stock items to management and FOH and BOH team members before the start of each shift
• Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred but not required. Precious pizza experience is a plus
• Knowledge of basic food safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).
• Must be able to work independently, and with others.
• Must be able to be at work efficiently at a fast pace, with a sense of urgency for every order, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation includes a base hourly rate plus weekly cash tip-outs from FOH staff (which is based on total sales) and the opportunity for bonuses. All training hours will be paid. Employees receive a 50% discount on food, a 35% discount of merchandise, two free work shirts after training, and one free draft beer at the end of each shift.

Positions Available:

We’re looking to fill multiple spots across both of our locations. A variety of shifts are available including days, nights, weekends and mid-shifts. Shifts range from 4 hours to 12 hours.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
