What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer position at Gator Dock and Marine?
Summary/Objective
Responsibilities include drafting and technical support primarily for GatorDock fabricated aluminum structures, which include docks, gangways, fixed piers, railings and other marine access structures.
Essential Functions
· Produce shop drawings for fabricated aluminum structures, which include docks, gangways, fixed piers, railings and other marine access structures throughout the United States and internationally.
· Coordinate internal and external peer reviews of shop drawings and delivery of packages to customers. Address review comments, develop, and coordinate release of fabrication drawings.
· Coordinate with sales representatives to provide cost estimates and quotations for clients.
· Provide operational support for fabrication of structures and purchasing of materials when required.
· Provide technical support resources to sales representatives for GatorDock applications. Draw upon expertise and resources within the company as needed to fulfill technical support needs.
· Assist the Plant Manager and Director of Engineering with improvements to company ACAD and SolidWorks platforms and standard operating procedures.
· Ensure that all technical support provided by GatorDock is in accordance with appropriate policies, standards, design standards, and project specific requirements.
· Participate in developing and maintaining drafting procedures and guidelines for the design of Gator Systems. Develop and maintain a list of technical improvements that increase the efficiency and quality of shop drawings and services.

Qualifications Required:
· High School Diploma required; Some college education preferred but not required.
· 4 years of experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
· Familiarity with National CAD standards or other system standards.
· Experience with developing, creating, and/or maintaining standard company operating procedures for standard details, standard border frames, and systems of standardized layer usage.
· Experience in marine construction, aluminum construction, and/or prefabricated structures is preferred but not required.
