Glass Installer - Job Description
The Glass Installer is responsible for installing glass shower doors, walls, mirrors, and other glass-centric products, along with associated hardware, in residential and commercial spaces. This role may require working independently, in a team environment, or under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide reliable, high-quality customer support and consult with clients on-site.
- Perform installations, upgrades, and additions for:
- Glass shower doors and enclosures
- Railings
- Mirrors and countertops
- Commercial storefront
- Other custom glass projects
- Install metal framework and hardware.
- Maintain necessary truck stock and inventory (equipment and tools) in coordination with the warehouse team.
- Organize and utilize technical resources, materials, and support to ensure efficient task execution.
- Monitor progress and ensure completion of assigned tasks.
- Complete and submit all required task-related documentation in a timely manner.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Complete additional projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of glass installation equipment and various glass grades.
- Familiarity with local and national building codes.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and installation instructions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and retain any required product certifications or licenses per national, state, and local codes.
- 25%-50% proficiency in product offerings.
- Vocational/Technical degree in a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in the construction field or knowledge of custom glass, metal framework, and hardware industries.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly:
- Stand, walk, sit, twist, use hands, reach, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
- Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and color recognition.
- Work in challenging positions/circumstances, including:
- Ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment
- Wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, and ceilings
- Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Work full-time with a flexible schedule, including on-call availability.
- Travel on short notice as required.
- Drive a motor vehicle for extended periods (day and evening shifts).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
