POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Junior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team headquartered in Miami. This role will have plenty of exposure and interaction with many departments and management with excellent opportunities for growth. This role is responsible for maintaining and updating accounts payable records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality (3 way matching). Record invoices, handle payments, track expenses, and ensuring financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and ready for audits.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives direct supervision from the Vice President of Accounting; may assist other departmental employees in the performance of the job functions. Does not supervise any other position(s). Frequently exercises discretion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring all invoices are coded to the correct GL accounts.
- Ensuring all GR’s match prices, quantities received with invoices received.
- Verify GL Accounts and post invoices.
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
- Ensuring all vendor inquiries are handled efficiently and to the vendor’s satisfaction and that all internal inquiries are handled efficiently and to the customers satisfaction.
- Reconciling vendor statements on a recurring basis.
- Mastercard Reconciliations every 2 weeks.
- Help to ensure paperwork is entered in a timely manner – including purchase orders and invoices.
- Assisting with reconciliation/review of accounts payable.
- Prepare checks for mailing.
- Maintain listing of accounts payable.
- Maintain updated vendor files.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Reconciliation of accounts.
- Monitoring suppliers account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.
- Maintain accounts payable customer files.
- Investigate and resolve suppliers queries.
- Communicating with suppliers via phone, email, mail or personally.
- Reconcile supplier statements related to our financial transactions.
- Performed administrative support functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of professional accounting experience.
- Experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting software, Peachtree and SAP highly preferred.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation.
- Strong customer service, negotiating, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Results-oriented.
- Attention to detail, adept problem-solver, teamwork ethic, professional and ability to follow instructions.
- Must have expert level Microsoft Office Excel skills.
- Must speak fluently English and Spanish.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
- Should possess basic mathematic skills.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM must be willing and able to work some Saturdays or stay beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet business demands.
