Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the Enterprise Systems Team in office at the GMRE HQ (South Ogden, UT). The Systems Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware, and networks. This position will manage the designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting of GMRE's infrastructure systems. This position will be required to work in the office Monday - Friday.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support for networks (LAN, WLAN, VPN).
  • Support LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network segments with Dot1Q VLANs.
  • Manage IPSec VPN and OpenVPN (Site-to-site & Client-to-site).
  • Maintain network connectivity up-time at local and remote sites.
  • Respond to user requests for service, troubleshoot problems, and document solutions.
  • Record activities, solutions and other responses to request for service
  • End-user support : Windows 11, Office365, and other Enterprise Applications.
  • Manage change / configuration management on network nodes.
  • Management of Hypervisors, Linux, Windows Servers, and Network Communications Equipment.
  • Administration of Active Directory Services (AD, DNS, Certificate Authority, GPO, NPS) and Entra (Azure) ID.
  • Management of Backup and Disaster Recovery Systems.
  • Monitoring and planning of Capacity Management.
  • Management of Microsoft GCC High Tenant
  • Maintain Windows Servers : Active Directory Services (AD, DNS, Certificate Authority, GPO, NPS), Print Server, MSSQL.
  • Support distributed file systems : Windows DFS, Ceph.
  • Maintain Linux Application Servers : RHEL / Debian (Apache, CUPS, MariaDB, MongoDB, Tomcat).
  • Administration and support of Confluence and Jira application servers and environments.
  • Administration and support of SolidWorks and PDM application servers and environments.
  • Support, train, and mentoring for other department personnel.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Strong network troubleshooting : involves excellent communication skills, the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical individuals, and the ability to understand and build a relationship with the clients.
  • Proficient with network routing and switching concepts.
  • Proficient with Windows Server (2019, 2022), Active Directory Services (AD, DNS, Certificate Authority, GPO, NPS), and Print Servers.
  • Proficient with Entra (Azure) and Microsoft 365.
  • Administration and Management using PowerShell and Bash scripting.
  • Ability to manage headless Linux Operating Systems.
  • Ability to manage Linux Application Server (Apache, Tomcat).
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of server, network, and PC hardware.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least three years' experience managing an enterprise infrastructure.
  • At least two years' experience managing Active Directory, Azure AD, and Office365.
  • At least two years' experience managing Storage Area Networks (SANs) or Distributed Storage.
  • At least one years' experience managing Site-to-Site VPNs.
  • At least one years' experience managing Dot1Q VLAN Networks.
  • Experience with ticketing systems.
  • Experience in compliance with security requirements (ISO 27001, NIST 800-171).
  • High certifications of interest : Security , RHCSA, CCNA, ITIL
  • Preferred experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira applications servers and environments.
  • Preferred experience with SolidWorks and PDM application servers and environments.
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance if required.
  • Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver's license is required.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Occasionally ascends / descends a ladder to service network communications equipment.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and / or site visits, site maintenance, other activities.
