Marketing and Proposal Specialist

Gavel & Dorn Engineering (G&D) is looking for an Intermediate-Advanced Level Marketing and Proposal Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis.

Gavel & Dorn Engineering, PLLC (G&D) is a full-service civil engineering and construction services consulting firm specializing in water, sewer, and stormwater utility infrastructure. G&D has completed a wide variety of projects throughout the Carolinas since its inception in 2003 including design, rehabilitation, and construction of water and wastewater collection systems, wastewater pump stations, elevated storage tanks, large diameter pipelines, streambank restoration, stormwater systems, roadway culverts, ponds, and high hazard dams. In addition to offering general civil engineering planning/design services for public sector work, the firm offers in-house hydraulic modeling, sanitary sewer flow metering, SSES, construction observation and administration, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing and laboratory capabilities. We have successfully completed over $350 million in construction projects for a variety of clients including municipalities, universities, industrial facilities, and other engineering consulting firms.

G&D is headquartered in Charlotte, NC with a regional office in Columbia, SC and operates out of its headquarters office on Freedom Drive in Charlotte (near I-485) with a staff of 36 employees between our offices. The partners of G&D own the company and are committed to the organic growth of the firm. As a member of the G&D team, you would contribute to our mission by:

Proposal Development:

· Identifying and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs)

· Developing, writing, and editing proposal content, including resumes, project descriptions, and presentations

· Ensuring proposals are on time and meet client requirements.

· Applying creativity and strategic insight into proposal development

· Updating data and maintaining accurate and high-quality databases (resumes, project descriptions, proposals, and qualification packages) for use in marketing and promotional activities

Marketing Material Creation:

· Developing and maintaining marketing materials, including social media posts (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and other client marketing efforts

· Coordinate website updates with web designer and internal teams

Minimum Qualifications:

· 2 years of related experience

· Proficiency in relevant software, such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office

· Familiarity with database management systems

· Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· The ability to work as a contributing member of the team

· The ability to work and meet deadlines under rigid time constraints

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certification or BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related degree

· Management of HubSpot (firm’s CRM software)

· Experience in the A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23,000.00 - $29,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
