As Venterra continues to expand, we are on the lookout for a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our Design Service Line. The Venterra Design Service Line incorporates the design and analysis of foundations and substations for Floating and fixed Offshore Wind, Monopiles and Jackets, T&I, Onshore and Offshore substation design and Onshore Renewables. The selected candidate will be employed through Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions and will work from our Edinburgh office.
Role Description
As a Graduate Environmental Scientist you will be working closely with a talented team of geoscientists and engineers to help us deliver safe, innovative and optimised solutions. You will work on a variety of our onshore projects with a primary areas of focus on the assessment and remediation of contaminated land, and support to environmental impact assessment.

Key Responsibilities Will Also Include
- Preliminary (desk-based) geoenvironmental assessments
- Site investigation design and supervision
- Contaminated land qualitative and quantitative assessment including toxicological, ecotoxicological and water environment risks
- Remediation design, supervision and verification
- Specialist input to environmental impact assessment
- Capable of writing clear and concise technical reports
- Numerate and capable of using standard data management and statistical tools
- GIS experience desirable
- Full UK driving license
- An honours degree in Geochemistry, or a Bachelor level degree in geology with a higher degree in chemistry.
- Candidates should be willing to travel to and work on remote sites away from the office location.
- Commitment to personal development and progressing to an appropriate chartership.
