What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor (Bachelor's Degree part-time) position at Gavin Foundation?
JOB TITLE: Certified Counselor
REPORTS TO: Clinical Director
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Work with a team in our ATS/CSS comprised of medical professionals, clinicians and case managers to provide support, counseling and community referrals to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. This will include facilitating individual and group counseling sessions and providing aftercare case management planning services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct bio-psychosocial assessment
- Complete intake paperwork familiarity with MA DPH EIM/ESM preferred
- Facilitating psycho-education groups
- Use of MI based counseling
- Knowledge of the 12 Steps of Recovery
- Formulate treatment plan and provide timely documentation
- Attend weekly treatment team supervision & biweekly individual supervision
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's, CADC, LADC I or II
- Knowledge of the ASAM criteria
- Experience with utilization review for insurance payment
- Must have effective speaking and writing skills
- Three years in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse
- Familiarity with Clinic Management Software a Plus
- Basic Computer Skills (MS Office) & the Desire/Ability to Learn New Software
SCHEDULE: seeking various days & shifts
- Mondays (8am-4:30pm or 10:30am-7pm)
- Fridays (7am-3:30pm)
- Saturdays (7am-3:30pm or 10:30am-7pm or 8am-4:30pm)
- Sundays (8am-4:30pm or 10:30am-7pm)
