Custodian/Janitor

Gavora, Inc. is hiring a Janitor to perform routine and deep-cleaning functions in mall settings to ensure that the facilities remain safe and sanitary. This is a floating position, requiring travel between Fairbanks and North Pole. The successful applicant will typically work Mon/Tue in North Pole and Thu/Fri in Fairbanks, 6am-2pm. Shift times may be flexible upon discussion during the interview process.

Responsibilities

· Ensure a clean working environment.

· Conduct weekly inventory of supplies and equipment needed to maintain sanitation.

· Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

· Maintain restrooms in clean, orderly and sanitary conditions.

· Sanitize toilets/urinals.

· Clean sinks, counters, and mirrors.

· Check for graffiti, remove or paint as needed.

· Empty garbage.

· Replace and refill, if necessary, toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.

· Clean windows.

· Dust ledges and woodwork.

· Maintain cleanliness of the outside grounds to include picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, applying ice control material to entrances of buildings.

· Other related tasks or projects as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift.
• Must be able to occasionally lift over 50 pounds.
• Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
