Job Summary: Performs professional work in organizing, planning and implementing adapted sports and recreation programs, including clinics, special events, tournaments, and adapted sports teams, for individuals with physical disabilities. Examples of disabilities include: spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputation, visual impairment, multiple sclerosis, and other physical disabilities. This position will require working varied hours including early morning, days, nights and weekends, to accommodate program needs. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Sports Association Program Manager.

Qualifications
- Required Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Parks & Recreation Administration, or related field. An equivalent combination of education in a related field and related experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is acceptable
- Prefer experience in working with individuals with physical disabilities that require modification to participate. Prefer experience in planning, coordination, and implementation of recreation, sport or related programs
- Applicants with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation must be certified or eligible for certification prior to employment and is required to maintain certification through NCTRC. Certification eligible staff must obtain CTRS certification within one year of hire. TR certification must be re-applied for every five years
- Assists in the planning, coordination, and implementation of adapted sport programs
- Performs work safely in accordance with department and hospital safety procedures
- Performs appropriate written communication
- Interacts appropriately through verbal communication
- Acts in a professional manner
- Maintains training and education for job role
- Performs all other related duties, as assigned, requiring compatible skills and responsibilities
