The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing detailed estimates, and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed proposals.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and assess material costs, labor, and equipment needs.
- Monitor project budgets and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing.
- Prepare bid documents and present estimates to clients or stakeholders.
- Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor bids and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards during the estimating process.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, particularly within electrical or heavy construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of cost control methods and construction management principles.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is preferred.
- Familiarity with project management practices and tools is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
