What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator position at GB Fabrication?
Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to move, stack, and retrieve materials
- Load and unload trucks or containers using a forklift
- Perform order picking and ensure accuracy in product selection
- Inspect and maintain the forklift equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions
- Follow safety guidelines and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with inventory control by conducting cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating a forklift or lift truck
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment
- Proficient in using a pallet jack and other material handling tools
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes
- Basic math skills for inventory tracking and order fulfillment
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
