Life Sciences Senior Project Manager
GBA Builders, LLC currently offers construction management services to clients in the Life Sciences / Pharma / Biotech Industry. We work closely with our affiliated company, GBA, in a design-build relationship to add value to our clients.
This position will be responsible for assisting our BD professionals as needed for client meetings, leading preconstruction efforts with our engineers, estimators, and project management, and overseeing active construction projects to ensure project managers are accountable for project execution. The ideal candidate will be partnership focused and have experience working with business developers, designers, estimators, project managers, and clients. Someone with excellent communication (soft skills), leadership experience, and significant experience in the life sciences market.
Responsibilities:
- Assist business developers with securing clients once BD has qualified projects.
- Provide leadership and be accountable for an engineering and construction team from preconstruction efforts through construction.
- Provide leadership and be accountable for project management and estimating efforts to support ongoing construction operations.
- Teach, coach, and mentor staff on best practices and procedures, client interactions, soft skills, etc.
- Interact with clients and design team as needed to resolve issues and expedite the projects.
- Must be able to assist with growing our business with existing clients and generate new business relationships with our BD professionals.
- Work with the project pursuits team and marketing staff to develop proposals and presentations that speak to our clients needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Schedule development and evaluations
- Establish project budgets and forecast budgets to project completion
- Assist with project bidding and buyout both negotiated and hard bid projects
- Reviewing and assisting our legal team with owner agreements, writing subcontract scopes of work and initiating subcontracts
Requirements:
- Degree in construction science and management or similar industry experience
- Established professional network in the life sciences market.
- 8 years of Pharma / Biotech / Life Sciences experience
- 12 years of project management / project development experience
- Partnership approach to working with architects, engineers, owners, subs excellent emotional intelligence and soft skills
- Extensive understanding of the EPCM / Design Build project approach
- Extensive understanding of CM at Risk and Hard Bid project approach
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player
- Self-motivation and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
