Field Engineer

Traveling Field Engineer – Construction Management (GBA Builders)

GBA Builders is dedicated to building the critical environments common in the life sciences, mission critical, healthcare, federal, and other regulated industries. We provide pre-construction consulting, general contracting, design-build and construction management at risk services. GBA Builders is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas (KC metro) with field offices throughout the United States.

We are looking for a candidate to provide support on various construction projects in the life sciences and/or mission critical industries. A successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies. Ideal candidates will be interested in pursuing a project manager career route.

Responsibilities:

• Assist on design-build projects working a multidisciplined team of architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors, etc.

• Estimating, quantity takeoff, and perform subcontractor pricing reviews / verifications.

• Assist Project Manager with day-to-day activities

• Assist with coordination of subcontractors on site

• Quality control assistance

• Assist with schedule evaluations and updates

• Assist with site logistics planning and coordination

• Interact with clients and design team as needed to resolve issues and expedite the work

• Assist with project bidding and buyout, and project budget management

• Safety assistance while on job sites

Requirements:

• Degree in Construction Management / Construction Engineering

• Hands on construction experience / internships is preferred

• MS Office Suite knowledge and excellent computer skills

• MS Project experience is preferred.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to be a team player

• Self-motivation and time management skills

• Travel may be required
