Senior LiDAR Technician
GBA's LiDAR Department is currently seeking a Senior LiDAR Technician with 5 years of experience within the land survey field, including knowledge of 3D scanning including Mobile LiDAR, Aerial LiDAR, and Terrestrial LiDAR. They should also be experienced in processing point cloud data to produce topographic surveys utilizing the latest point cloud software. The type of deliverables we produce range from DOT, Stream/Storm/Sanitary, Energy, and Municipality corridor design, topography and many more. We offer a variety of work and learning experiences from project to project.
Responsibilities:
- Proficient in utilization of MicroStation and TopoDOT software on topographic surveys
- Collaborate closely with survey crew members and office staff to draft survey data
- Coordinate with group managers to meet schedule deadlines
- Execute the collection of scan data from Mobile, Aerial, and Terrestrial LiDAR systems and overseeing the processing of the collected scan data and the extraction of topographic line wok.
- Develop the manipulation of Point Cloud data for the extraction of survey features used for survey deliverables
- Execute the creation of ground surfaces utilizing point cloud data and drafting software, to accurately depict existing field conditions
- Checking for project completeness and quality
- Troubleshooting issues
- Mentor and train junior technicians
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5 plus years of experience in LiDAR OR a combination of academic and professional experience
- Excellent communication skills to effectively gather all information needed for processing the LiDAR data
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Connect Edition is a plus.
- Extensive experience in TopoDOT is a plus.
- Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced work environment
