Entry Level Bridge Engineer
GBA is looking for an energetic Civil/Structural Engineer to join our bridge team. Our bridge team works on a wide range of projects including bridge/structural design, rehabilitation, bridge inspections, bridge load ratings, structural construction observation, etc. As a bridge engineer at GBA, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects applying your structural engineering skills in a team atmosphere.

Our bridge team works on a wide range of projects including bridge/structural design, rehabilitation, bridge inspections, bridge load ratings, structural construction observation, etc. As a bridge engineer at GBA, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects applying your structural engineering skills in a team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Perform bridge and structure inspections in the field (could include some travel)
- Create routine inspection reports for structural deterioration
- Produce structural load rating calculations
- Apply structural engineering concepts and detailing techniques to design projects
- Follow standard bridge engineering/design procedures
- Develop structural details using specialized software such as Microstation, AutoCAD or other Structural Design programs
- Assist with geometric layout and quantity development
- BS/MS in civil or structural engineering, or closely related field
- EIT certification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD preferred
- Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software is a plus (Conspan, RCPier, Merlin, MDS, STAAD)
- Previous internship experience is a plus
- Excellent work ethic
- Possess effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Possess a positive attitude and commitment to quality
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
- Available to travel for short periods of time (approx. 3 to 5 days a month)
