Position: Associate Estimator
Scope Of Responsibility
This is an entry-level position designed to acclimate an individual to a career track in estimating. Under the guidance of a Senior Estimator, an Associate Estimator will develop skills and insight into the preconstruction process by gathering and preparing routine estimating data, compiling that data for use in bid proposal estimates, and providing general support as needed within the Estimating Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
- Estimate Preparation
- Review project plans & specifications to identify required scopes of work
- Compile quantity take-offs from project documents
- Solicit pricing proposals from, and verify participation of subcontractors as needed
- Assist in preparation of design-build, design-bid-build, and conceptual estimates
- Data Collection & Analysis
- Compile and organize data for use in cost estimates
- Develop and maintain bid spreadsheets
- Keep current on changes and trends in construction methods & materials
- Communication and Coordination
- Build and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Participate in and support preconstruction activities and meetings
- Assist with documentation of preconstruction communications (submittals, RFIs, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, but will consider other combinations of education or experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel), On-Screen Take-Off, Bulebeam, Pantera (or similar preconstruction software)
- OSHA-10 (OSHA-30 preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans & specifications
- Understanding of common construction and estimating principles and practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Visual acuity to read, review, and analyze information is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Some travel to visit job sites for Pre-Bid meetings may be required
