Job Summary The Wire Transfer Associate position is responsible for sending, receiving and processing wire transfers. Prepares, processes and maintains documentation related to wires. Prepares and enters all GL entries to the on-line systems Essential Job Functions - Transmit Fed Wires, Foreign Exchange, Corporate wires, standing orders and verifications for all wire transfers on date requested.
- Ensure proper personnel are notified of any incoming service message. Investigate and resolve all wire transfer problems within the required periods. Correspond with appropriate bank personnel as required and document action taken.
- Accurately facilitate payment instructions via Fed wire according to Regulation J, Article 4A and BSA with special attention to OFAC compliance and adhere to WTC record keeping.
- Perform reconciliation of previous day’s Fed line activities and report the Fed balances so that the proper cash position can be maintained.
- Accurately process daily US and foreign exchange wire transfers on behalf of the membership and the credit union.
- Back up recurring templates bi-weekly, and maintain a weekly log of cross-reference for OFAC scanning.
- Ensure the Fed wire terminal is properly maintained and that access to the wire room is restricted to authorized personnel.
- Receive and separate incoming advices. Deliver all incoming wires to appropriate personnel within 24 hours.
- Detect and assist in the investigation of fraudulent wire transfer.
- Follow up with vendor compliance software problems.
- Perform other duties as may be required.
Secondary Job Functions - Coordinates collection of financial and lending documents for distribution to the Underwriting Department.
- Locates and compiles information; formats reports, graphs, tables, records and other sources of information.
- Provides excellent customer service to Bank’s clients and serves as departmental liaison.
- Assembles and categorizes facts and figures for written computation and calculations.
Knowledge The ability to: Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. You are able to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Qualifications/Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of related experience or relevant coursework.
- Able to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
