Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and one other day, to be determined by their business unit. Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
NEPM is a community-supported public television and NPR member station. It connects the diverse people of the western New England region. NEPM educates, entertains, enriches, and improves the neighborhoods that make up our community. Corporate Sponsorship is responsible for securing sponsorship from the New England business community. Corporate Sponsorship raises revenue through sponsorship of television, radio, online, print, and events.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Account Executive is responsible for securing revenue from local businesses and advertising agencies through sponsorship of NEPM TV, radio, online, and events with an emphasis on creating and securing sponsorship for multimedia packages. New business development is a key requirement. The position will report to the Director of Corporate Sponsorship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Secure new business
- Research, identify and cultivate new sponsors.
- Prepare action plans to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Cold calling on the phone and setting up face to face meetings.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals.
- Cultivate clients and prospects through participation in special events and other activities that involve prospects or current clients.
Maintain existing business
- Present sponsorship opportunities to current sponsors to increase yearly spend. Provide programming that meets the clients’ marketing goals and add additional opportunities as need.
Create sales contracts
- Manage account services through quality checks and other follow up.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, revenue projections and closings, projections, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Track all sales activity in CRM system.
- Work with traffic to ensure spots air correctly. Work with accounting to ensure invoicing and collections are timely and correct.
SKILL SET
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required.
- Self-starter and be able to work independently and as a team player dependent
- Tech savvy
- Detail oriented
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. 2 to 5 years related work experience required. Broadcast sales experience, with emphasis on television sales is preferred.
